Need to know more about Connor Mac? Here’s the blurb:

New Zealand born, Switzerland-based singer-songwriter Connor Mac today releases slick new single ‘Like I Used To Be’.

Connor MacOriginally from Palmerston North, Connor McLaughlin aka Connor Mac grew up in a musical family, and has roots in music production and live performance. Now, at the age of 24, he is ready to push his self-produced solo work out to the world.

A relatively fresh, emerging talent, Connor has already built up an impressive body of work. With a handful of singles to his credit and an incredible 2 million+  streams to date, new track ‘Like I Used To Be’ is released on FrtyFve Records across all streaming platforms worldwide.

Connor’s music embodies a uniquely soulful and organic sound, with elements of neo-soul combined with pop melodies, driven by guitar riffs and layered keys. His lovelorn songs reveal a stunningly honest vulnerability in their lyrics, and ‘Like I Used To Be’ is a perfect example of this.

Says Connor, “’Like I Used To Be’ is a song I wrote and produced last year during lockdown that tells the story of my relationship falling apart. So often, we see ourselves leave a relationship as very different people to who we were when it first began. This song is a message to someone I loved, to remember how I was before I lost sight of myself.”

Stranded in Switzerland due to the Covid outbreak while on a visit to see his Dad, Connor decided to ride it out, making the most of the situation by working as a musician at ski resorts during the winter months, then working as a full time travelling musician, gaining valuable live experience playing at bars, hotels and exclusive, private events all over Europe the rest of the time.

Says Connor, “I’ve had some truly amazing experiences, and have been invited to perform at some really cool events. Playing for Bear Grylls and his family in the middle of a snow storm; performing at weddings in exotic locations all over Europe; performing on a superyacht in Monaco during the Grand Prix – absolutely epic!”

Now looking forward to returning to New Zealand, Connor is focusing on releasing an album and performing at home.

One of a new generation of talent who is beginning to cut through the noisey digital landscape of the global music industry, Connor Mac deserves to be firmly on your radar. Look out for more new music from this rising talent through 2022.
