Indie Folk Legend Dave Dondero In Auckland (Come Watch)

Radio 13 Studios (fka 13th Floor) is excited to host first house concert on Sunday July 1st at 7:30pm with acclaimed indie folk singer/songwriter Dave Dondero and friends at 206 Symonds Street, Eden Terrace (above our friends at The French Café).

If you haven’t heard of Dave Dondero, you should. The folks at NPR’s All Songs Considered have named him as one of “the best living songwriters” putting him in a league with Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney and Tom Waits.

Dave Dondero’s roots are in punk and hardcore…he was member of Sunbrain and then, This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb during the 1990’s before embarking upon a solo career that has found him travelling constantly and releasing 10 albums, the most recent being last year’s Inside The Cats Eye.

Also performing at the Radio 13 Studios this Sunday night will be NZ-based, American artist Erin Cole-Baker, who has just released her 5th album, Till The Feeling’s Right. Check out the video for the title track here.

Rounding out the bill will be The Dauphins aka The Dauphin Of Mississippi aka Jason Burge… another American musician, now making his home in New Zealand. Here’s what they are saying about him: “Jason Burge’s singing in a small space astounded me. His being is an instrument.” – Cindy Bloomquist, venue owner of The Yard in Saratoga.

It will be a rare opportunity to see and hear these incredible artists and fine songwriters perform is such an intimate setting at the Radio 13 Studios.
