Juçara Marçal – Brazilian Delta Blues: Interview

Juçara Marçal joins us from São Paulo, Brazil to tell us how Robert Johnson’s Crossroads intersects with her own South American Delta Blues.

Jucara MarcalThe 13th Floor’s Marty Duda spoke to Brazilian artist Juçara Marçal about her latest album Delta Estàcio Blues, a record that mixes hip hop, jazz, r&b, salsa and the blues into something indescribably unique.

According to Juçara, it starts with the beat and was, in part, inspired by Detroit rapper Danny Brown’s Atrocity Exhibition. And don’t worry if your Portuguese isn’t the best, interpreter and publicist Mariana Mansur is on hand to help!
