Loveland Duren Talks About Any Such Thing
Loveland Duren have released their new album today. The Memphis-based duo call it Any Such Thing.
The 13th Floor’s Marty Duda spoke to Vicki Loveland and Van Duren just as they were releasing Any Such Thing, their third album together. Those in the know may be aware of Van Duren’s previous career as a power pop legend whose long lost album, 1977’s Are You Serious, inspired a documentary about the-then obscure rocker.
Now, back in Memphis, and recording at beloved studios such as Ardent and Royal, Van Duren and Vicki Loveland bring us some much-needed classic soul inspired by the likes of Etta James, Al Green and Big Star.
