Marianne Faithfull’s Tribute To Patti Smith

Today in NY time Patti Smith is celebrating her 74th birthday. Words cannot describe the influence Patti has had on both rock and roll.

So, imagine our exquisite pleasure when we came across this divine cover of Patti’s Ghost Dance recorded by another musical goddess…Marianne Faithfull.

This version was released back in 1995 and appeared on a compilation called A Perfect Stranger: The Island Anthology. The track was co-produced by Keith Richards, who also plays guitar, along with Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts.
