Paige – I Hope You Knew: New Song Of The Day
Paige releases her new single, I Hope You Knew and there’s more new music on the way!
Here’s the record company blurb with details:
Award-winning Pop artist Paige graces us with new music, sharing new single ‘I Hope You Knew’ out on Sony Music New Zealand. Watch the heartwarming music video created by Shae Sterling.
Paige revealed three new songs including ‘I Hope You Knew’ to fans this past weekend while supporting UK’s Holly Humberstone at her Auckland Tuning Fork show. Signalling the beginnings of more music on the horizon from the rising act from South Auckland, New Zealand, ‘I Hope You Knew’ (produced by Simon Gooding) is clasically heart-on-sleeve and autobiographical in Paige’s hallmark style.
“This song is a love letter and apology to my ex-partner and I feel the video is a big apologetic gesture that matches the song. I always imagined taking her hundreds of flowers to apologise and used to build these scenarios in my head of me doing that.”
The announcement comes as Paige announces a limited edition merch drop for fans, available to purchase HERE.
This new chapter in Paige’s musical career comes after her successful 2020 EP ‘Always Growing’. Dominating New Zealand airwaves following its release, singles like the Top 10 Airplay hit ‘Waves’ established Paige at the forefront of New Zealand’s new pop movement, earning two nominations at the Aotearoa Music Awards including ‘Pop Artist of the Year’ and ‘Breakthrough Artist’. Fans latched onto concert favourites like ‘Yellow’, ‘Too Much To H8’ and ‘Bloom’.
She was additionally recognised at the 2021 Waiata Māori Music Awards, receiving the award for ‘Best Māori Solo Artist’ (Te Tohu Manu Tioriori Wahine Autaia).
‘Always Growing’ propelled Paige into the limelight and from then on Paige has gone from strength to strength, serving her dedicated fanbase with bites of new material including her recent single ‘Goodbye’ which hit Top 10 on the NZ Radio Chart. She also released two songs as part of the 2021 Waiata Anthems movement and teamed up with Norwegian Pop genius Peder Elias on ‘When I’m Still Getting Over You’ which saw Paige develop a growing fanbase in South Korea.
Paige has toured with some of the New Zealand’s biggest acts, such as Drax Project and Six60 and opened for international acts like George Ezra, Ruel and Nina Nesbitt.
‘I Hope You Knew’ marks the beginning of more music to come from Paige.
