Peter Rowan Is Calling You From His Mountain: Interview
Peter Rowan has been playing bluegrass and rock & roll for 60 years. At age 79 he’s just released Calling You From My Mountain, so we called him to have a chat about it.
The 13th Floor’s Marty Duda spoke to Peter who was in California, parked outside a Church Summer Camp (to get better reception). Peter started his recording career in 1963 playing with Bill Monroe. Since then he’s been a numerous bands…Seatrain, Earth Opera, Old And In The Way and The Rowans, plus he wrote Panama Red, the “high” point of the New Riders Of The Purple Sage’s recordings.
Here’s Peter to talk about Hank Williams, Lightnin’ Slim and Molly Tuttle.
