R.I.P Gil Scott-Heron
We’re sad to hear that musician, poet and activist Gil Scott-Heron has passed away at age 62. Details are scarce at the moment as to the cause of death. Gil Scott-Heron did the bulk of his recording in the 1970s. His “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” from 1971, is a biting commentary on racism, consumerism and right wing politics. He re-emerged last year with the album, I’m New Here which was just recently remixed by XX’s Jamie Smith and retitled “We’re New Here“.
