Reece Milton – Ms Mona Lisa: New Song Of The Day

Reece Milton releases soft-rock ballad  and video for Ms Mona Lisa.

Here’s the blurb:

Reece MiltonSinger-songwriter Reece Milton has today released his new soft-rock ballad + video ‘Ms Mona Lisa’ – and it’s a work of art!

An accomplished guitarist – with his guitar solos described as ‘the stuff air guitar dreams are made of’ – ‘Ms Mona Lisa’ also shows off his songwriting and vocal talent. “I wanted to write a song that could extend my vocal range,” says Reece, “and the perfect kind of song to do that is a ballad. This song is about two people in a relationship that’s going sour and learning when to let go. I called it ‘Ms Mona Lisa’ because I didn’t want to use a ‘traditional’ girls name, and that’s what popped into my head.”

‘Ms Mona Lisa’ is the final single to be released before Reece’s debut album ELIXIR drops on November 2, 2022. It was recorded at StudioBox in Nelson, mixed/mastered by Clint Murphy at CJM Productions and mastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound in Nashville. It follows on from his debut single ‘Once in a Lifetime’ (2019) and ‘Atmosphere’, ‘Take My Hand’ (2020) and ‘Take It Easy’ (2022).

Reece MiltonAccompanying the single is another high-quality video – something Reece is becoming known for. The performance video is set in an art gallery, where some of the works expertly come to life. “Having our amazing actor Pania Parsons recreate the famous paintings; it took a full day to create the three looks with all departments working together.” The impressive team included writer/director Laura Irish, producer Jonny Eagle/Innit Creative, executive producers Jane Baken, IMME / StudioBox Creative and Antipodes Records, cinematographer Bevan Crothers, costume designer Melissa Spratt and art director Gabe Bertogg.

Born in Wellington and raised in Nelson, Reece Milton developed his passion and skill for music at high school. In 2018 his band won regional heats at Smokefree Rockquest, and then Reece went on to win a competition to have his song ‘Once in a Lifetime’ recorded at StudioBox and produced by legendary welsh producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Melanie C). This experience resulted in him being offered a recording contract with Antipodes Records and a management contract with StudioBox Creative. As well as having played with Paul Ubana Jones, he has opened for Tim Allen and The Two, toured the lower South Island and Wellington with his band and performed at festivals including, The NZ Cider Festival, The Kapiti Music Festival and the campground stage at Bay Dreams in Nelson. Reece performed solo as an opener for Opera in the Park in Nelson and was invited back to Smokefree Rockquest as a guest band. As well as releasing his debut album, Reece will be hitting the road later in 2022-23, touring Australia and NZ with fellow Antipodes Records artist Nathan Foley – so make sure you’re following his socials!
