Samantha Josephine – Can I Please All Of You: 13th Floor New Song Of The Day

Samantha Josephine releases her new song, Can I Please All Of You all the way from Christchurch.

Here what Samantha Josephine has to say about the tune:

Samantha JosephThis track is Track 7 of my recent releases and it’s about going to therapy its got a gentler tone than my usual tracks. There’s heaps in it but that’s about as far as I will go lol. I’m based in Christchurch me and drummer Oliver do everything online as he is based in Chile

I’ve created a comfortable setting for me to be able to write, record, and release music. I have been doing this predominantly via social media and videos that go along with my releases. At the moment I have a lot of tracks up my sleeve and I am very focused on getting those finished and out. I was going to do it as an album but that stressed me out too much. So just one song at a time.

About Samantha Josephine:

I stumbled upon making music because of my necessity to have my guitar as a security blanket. While on a stay overseas I had one of those dramatic break ups where my ex smashed my guitar and left me with nowhere to stay. Of course I had made some interesting friends and ended up somewhere. In this particular house the guitars were not allowed to be in tune, and since it was of great importance to me to be able to play the guitar in a corner somewhere I had to adjust to playing these out of tune guitars. Therefore I could be social and not have to talk to anyone. This guitar playing I was doing piqued the interest of one very passionate musician and now a very good friend of mine, Brady Snow.  When we did eventually get to jam we exploded into some very obsessive songwriting sessions.

NOW

Back home in New Zealand I’ve created a comfortable setting for me to be able to write, record, and release music. I have been doing this predominantly via social media and videos that go along with my releases. At the moment I have a lot of tracks up my sleeve and I am very focused on getting those finished and out. I was going to do it as an album but that stressed me out too much. So just one song at a time.

MUSIC DESCRIPTION

Musically I’ve been compared to or at least I suppose I remind people of Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Jonathan Richmond those are probably the most common comparisons I get. I’ve also been told I have an unusual voice for a female musician, that’s a common thing too. The amount of times I’ve been called a female loud reed is just, it’s a lot, by the awesome people that follow my music. I really really love my internet fans, they are great.

MUSIC MOTIVATION

In terms of motivation, I don’t know if it’s a tangible thing. It’s some burning that sits in the middle of me to create. It doesn’t really have a name or reason. I am just hungry to create things. Sometimes it pains me. The things that drive the songs are usually my own emotional tangents whatever I am experiencing or processing. My life is always changing and stressing me around, my music helps me to process these changes.
