After weeks of clear skies and hot weather, the clouds gathered and rain threatened just as Jack Johnson was scheduled to perform at Auckland’s Villa Maria Winery. But tragedy was averted as the clouds parted and a good time was had by all. Some folks having, perhaps, too good of a time.
Future and Young Thug headline the announcement of more artists for Auckland City Limits on 3 March 2017. The two Atlanta-bred rappers are amongst the biggest names in contemporary hip-hop and join Beck, Justice, Grace Jones and over thirty more acts for the five stage, full day music festival at Western Springs.
Kesha is bringing her critically acclaimed ‘Rainbow Tour’ to Australia and New Zealand in early 2018, kicking off in Perth on 26th March at Metro City and hitting Sydney, Auckland and Adelaide, before ending on 5th April in Melbourne at Margaret Court Arena.
With an album recorded in Austin, Texas and just about ready for release, Wellington-based singer/songwriter Emily Fairlight presented a few of those songs to a small, but appreciative crowd at Auckland’s Golden Dawn.
The song’s been around since May, when Blondie’s Pollinator album was released, but the video for lead-off track Doom Or Destiny is brand new and its definitely worth checking out.
