Exuberance. Joyous energy. Pounding rhythms. Smiles from the stage connecting with smiles in the crowd, That’s Shonen Knife, unleashed in the cosy space of Artworks Theatre on Waiheke. A dose of deliciously good tunes in a world too beset with angst and gloom.
Saturday night at Hamilton Gardens, the spectacular Rhododendron Garden served as the location for tonight’s performance featuring national treasure Bic Runga,
Dinosaur Jr shattered a few eardrums last night at Auckland Town Hall. We sent Jeff Neems to the show…after all they are one of his fave bands.

Graham Nash played two hit-filled sets at Auckland’s Civic Theatre, proving at age 82, the former CSN&Y and Hollies member can still Teach Your Children a thing or two.
Starting his weekend in style, 13th Floor Reviewer Simon Coffey, went to see Scottish musical situationists Mogwai at the Powerstation, to relive 2016 all over again.
The Sounds Series kicked off their star-studded retro tour of Aotearoa in Auckland, playing to a capacity crowd at the North Shore’s Eventfinda Stadium. The festival vibes were taken inside for a line up playing well into the night.
Queens Of The Stone Age brought summer to an end in a big (and loud) way at Auckland’s Spark Arena. The 13th Floor’s Oxford Lamoureaux was there to take note.
