Betty Davis: Funk’s “Nasty Gal” Has Died at age 77: R.I.P.
Betty Davis has died at age 77. A contemporary and friend of Sly Stone, Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis (her ex-husband), Betty made some of the funkiest (and raunchiest) records of the 1970s.
Betty Davis never sold millions of records but she did influence the likes of Prince, Janet Jackson and Madonna. And albums such as Nasty Gal and They Say I’m Different are well worth checking out.
(Further investigation reveals that she may have been 76)
