Dave Wilson Performs For Olivia at The 13th Floor: Singles Session

Wellington musician Dave Wilson performs his new single, For Olivia at the 13th Floor and we have a copy of his new album, Ephemeral, on vinyl, to give away.

The 13th Floor’s Marty Duda welcomed Dave to the studio along with four musicians  he “picked up” in Auckland specially to perform for The 13th Floor.

Dave’s record company describes For Olivia as “contemplative, plaintive bass clarinet over a constantly morphing drone on live strings. Gesturing towards his training in the Arabic maqam tradition, his improvised bass clarinet melodies range from joyful and hopeful to nostalgic, melancholy, and haunting. The piece is dedicated to his niece, still in her youth, and encapsulates the wonder, bliss, doubt, and unease of childhood.”
