The fine folks that call themselves Carnivorous Plant Society have just released their latest album, The People Below.
Expect a multi media production! Carnivorous Plant Society band leader/multi-instrumentalist/genius Finn Scholes has penned custom-made animation as a backdrop to this highly acclaimed band’s performance of Mexican fantasy music. Yes, Mexican fantasy music, performed on a plethora of instruments by Finn and Tam Scholes, Alistair Deverick and Oliver Emmitt.

For an album where the last line is “and the pussycat died miserable”, The New King is a pleasant gentle listening experience. The second full-length from Auckland’s Carnivorous Plant Society is a dreamy tropical collection of mostly instrumental pieces, fleshed out with some spoken word story-reading and a handful of guest vocal appearances.
Leading up to the release of their new album on March 16th, titled The New King, Carnivorous Plant Society have whipped up a wonderful little video clip for the song Lovers In An Apocalypse.
