Now based in Australia, but originally from Greymouth, Jan Preston has been a part of the NZ music scene since her days with Alan Brunton’s Red Mole Cabaret in the mid-1970s.
These days Jan is immersed in the boogie woogie music of folks such as Albert Ammons, Hadda Brooks and Professor Longhair.
Here she is, with percussionist Mike Pullman, playing three tunes, including the brand-new Boogie Woman.
